NaPoWriMo ‘25 Day 27
The prompt for day 27 is probably one of my favs! Drawing from W.H. Auden’s “Musée des Beaux Arts”, that takes its inspiration from a very particular painting: Breughel’s “Landscape with the Fall of Icarus”, we had to write our own poem that describes a detail in a painting, and that begins, like Auden’s poem, with a grand, declarative statement.
I chose one of my favourite painters of all time! I always wanted to interpret then word his portraits, so here is an attempt!
