NaPoWriMo ‘25 Day 22
Our prompt for day 22 was beautiful. It asked us to draw from Diane Wakoski’s gorgeous, gratitude-ridden poem Thanking My Mother for Piano Lessons. She describes the act of playing as a “relief” from loneliness and worry, and as enlarging her life with something beautiful. Our challenge was to write a poem about something we’ve done – whether it’s music lessons, or playing soccer, crocheting, or fishing, or learning how to change a tire – that gave us a similar kind of satisfaction, and perhaps still does.
I take guitar lessons. It feels like the only skill/habit I haven’t seem to (yet) given up on.
