NaPoWriMo ‘25 Day 21
I realised, as I typed the title, that we are already, so soon, on day 21?! Time really flew by and I barely had the chance to touch it. Anyhow! Our prompt for today asked us to draw inspiration from Sawako Nakayasu’s surreal poem “Improvisational Score” and try our hand at writing our own poem in which something that normally unfolds in a set and well understood way — like a baseball game or dance recital – goes haywire, but is described as if it is all very normal.
I liked what I came up with as I am trying to practice the discipline and craft of prose writing/storytelling and dabble into writing more of horror/gory stuff in terms of metaphors (of course). Here is a poem about an office team meeting gone wrong!
